Posting Papers in 2020

To date 73 of my academic papers and other pieces of writing have been posted on this site. I took a short hiatus from the second half of November until the new year, but will begin posting new papers again each Tuesday in the 2020.

In the past the papers for each month were organised in relation to a theme, and the image chosen to represent them reflected that. Because a lot of my papers have already been shared, this year each paper will stand alone, rather than being part of a monthly theme.

I wish all those who have found this site useful or valuable – or infuriating – over the years a Happy New Year and look forward to continuing to share my writing and thinking.

Retired professor of history and sociology who has spent 30 years studying especially the changes in the Seventh-day Adventist Church as a result of it becoming global, with a clear majority of its members from the Developing world. I visited 60 countries for interviews in the process. I here make available to non-sociologists the papers I have published and presented at academic meetings on Adventism and also comparing Adventism's growth and spread with that of two other groups born in the US in the same century--Mormons (Latter-day Saints) and Jehovah's Witnesses.
